Making new year's resolutions for 2012? Resolve to help people AND pets by volunteering to work at the SPCA ADOPTIONS DESK! Volunteers should have good customer service skills, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to find joy in sending homeless animals home with new families IS A MUST! Animal shelter for dogs left outdoors in New York State must be appropriate to the animal's age, size, and health, and appropriate for inclement winter weather too. 

NYS ANIMAL SHELTER LAW

There may be no laws against dogs living outdoors 24/7, but there IS a law pertaining to the shelter of those dogs. The Shelter Law makes provisions for dogs on the worst winter AND summer days. Read the state law pertaining to dogs left outside for extended periods of time in inclement weather.
