Veterinarians in Training

Does your child want to help animals or become a veterinarian? Campers will visit the SPCA's Infirmary, observe a surgery, and meet professionals who treat and help domestic and wild animals every single day.  Campers will have a blast as young veterinarians-in-training who'll even practice using their own stethoscopes!

The Best Pet and ME - Mini Camp

These three days will immerse campers in activiites, games, and interactive experiences exploring the various pets that people own.  We'll interact with adoptable animals and farm residents while working on our "pet skills." Campers will make pet toys and explore having the best pet.  

July 5 - 7, Ages 4 - 5
July 5 - 7, Ages 6 -8 (SESSION FULL)

Wild Warriors

Walk on the wild side and learn about wildlife living in our own backyards!   Campers will meet some wild partners, explore the environment, and become a wildlife warrior. Meeting wildlife experts, examining nature, and exploring natural elements all around us, campers will enjoy walking on the wild side at the SPCA.

Training Tails, Feathers, and Hooves?

Is your child passionate about animals? Does he or she want to become an animal expert? The SPCA professionals are sure to amaze your camper through animal-centered activities, games, and meet-and-greets.  Campers will train animals and even help with some real care tasks like preparing meals for the dogs, empowering them to become true animal experts! 

July 24 - 28, Ages 6 - 8  (SESSION FULL)
July 24 - 28, Ages 9 - 11 (SESSION FULL)

Time: 9 am - 4 pm

Fun on the Farm - Mini Camp

Campers will meet and greet farm animals, help with some farm chores, and see what it takes to care for these amazing animals during this mini camp.  There will even be opportunities to train a farm animal, care for chickens, and work on gardening skills.

July 31 - August 2, Ages 4 - 5
July 31 - August 2, Ages 6 -8 (SESSION FULL)

 Junior Agents

Campers will learn how to speak for animals by becoming experts on what it really means to care for and protect them just like the SPCA's Animal Cruelty Investigators.  Joining us in our adventures, Investigators will help us explore and examine different interactive activities with visits from special animal guests.

Adopt a cat from the SPCA Serving Erie County

Before and After Care

Before or After Care is available from 8am - 9am and 4pm - 5pm for $25 per week.  Individual before or after care sessions are $6 each.  No before or after care is available for mini camps.

Age Information

Camp sessions are organized by age and grade.  When you register your child, use this guideline to ensure that they are in the correct group:

4-5 years old Kindergarten
6-8 years old First - Third
9-11 years old Fourth - Sixth
12-14 years old Seventh - Ninth


Medication and First Aid Policies 

If your child needs to take medication during the camp day or needs to have medication and/or medical devices for conditions such as asthma, diabetes or allergies, you MUST administer the medication for your child.  SPCA staff, camp counselors, and children themselves are unable to administer any medications.  SPCA humane educators are certified in First Aid and CPR.  However, employees, volunteers or other representatives are not permitted to administer any medical or emergency medical treatment to anyone.  If emergency medications may need to be administered, the child’s guardian should remain onsite during camp. 

Additional Information

  • Each camper will receive an SPCA camp t-shirt.  Additional t-shirts are available for $10. 
  • Campers will interact with animals daily.
  • Contact us if you have any concerns about allergies.
  • Campers can register for multiple sessions.
  • Campers must bring a lunch daily and a snack will be provided by the SPCA.
  • Camp will take place at the new SPCA located at 300 Harlem Road, West Seneca.

About Our Camp Counselors
The SPCA's humane educators work with children and adults during the school year.  These educators/camp counselors are trained in First Aid and CPR.
